Cone’s Dale Experience is a theory of learning outcomes or knowledge absorbing that had been stating by an experts, Dale. In his theory, learning outcomes can be achieved by the learners at least in ten categories with different level of outcomes which is often show by the percentages. The categories are:
1. Direct, Purposeful Experiences
2. Contrived Experiences
3. Dramatic Participation
4. Demonstration
5. Field Trips
6. Exhibits
7. Motion Pictures
8. Radio, Recordings, Still Pictures
9. Visual Symbols, and
10. Verbal Symbols
And the percentages are like this:
a) 10% of what they read
b) 20% of what they hear
c) 30% of what they see
d) 50% of what they see and hear
e) 70% of what they write and say
f) 90% of what they say as they do
From all of this explanation, I think that Dale want to tell us about learning outcomes or knowledge absorbing would increase if we learning by practice. To get better learning outcomes we just not only listen to the lecturer or reading some books but also we need more practice in order to get more understanding of what we learn about.
